Chicago Health Initiative

Our Story

Built for Chicago, by Chicago

The Chicago Health Initiative was born out of a simple observation: in a city with world-class medical institutions, thousands of our neighbors still lack access to basic preventative care. According to the City of Chicago Department of Public Health and Safety, roughly 10% of Chicagoans were uninsured as of 2020, and data from the Chicago Health Atlas shows that about 20% of residents have no primary care provider at all. We started this organization to close that gap — not from the outside, but from within the neighborhoods that need it most.

Our Vision

We envision a Chicago where health is a universal right, not a privilege. Our goal is to create a sustainable model of community-led healthcare that fosters long-term trust, empowers patients with preventative knowledge, and eliminates the healthcare disparities that divide our city.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve health equity in Chicago by providing free, accessible medical clinics and health education to underserved populations.
